Do you ever talk about "creatures", or "creature comforts"? Where does this concept come from? We often speak of "creation" when referring to nature, to the world in which we live, and to the stars that fill the heavens. But there's a dichotomy, a split, in many of our discussions about these things. We refer to creatures or to the creation, yet many refuse to acknowledge there is a Creator. How can you have a "creation" without a "creator"? It's an "oxymoron" - it makes no sense. Genesis 1:1: In the beginning Elohim (The Supreme and only god) created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1.7: And Elohim made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. 8 And Elohim called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. Genesis 1.16: And Elohim made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. 17 And Elohim set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and Elohim saw that it was good. Genesis 1:20: And Elohim said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. 21 And Elohim created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and Elohim saw that it was good. Genesis 1:24: And Elohim said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. 25 And Elohim made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creeps upon the earth after his kind: and Elohim saw that it was good. 26 And Elohim said, Let Us (Elohim is a plural term) make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. 27 So Elohim created man in His own image, in the image of Elohim created He him; male and female created He them. Genesis 2:3: And Elohim blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which Elohim created and made. 4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the YAHWEH Elohim made the earth and the heavens, Genesis 2:19: And out of the ground the YAHWEH Elohim formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. Genesis 5:1: This is the book of the generations of Adam (the term can also mean "mankind"). In the day that Elohim created man, in the likeness of Elohim made he him; 2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. Genesis 6:7: And YAHWEH said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repents Me that I have made them. Genesis 9.6: Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of Elohim made He man. Genesis 9:15: And I will remember my covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between Elohim and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. Deuteronomy 4:32: For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that Elohim created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it? Psalm 89:12: The north and the south You have created them. Psalm 102:18: This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise YAHWEH. Psalm 104:30: You send forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renew the face of the earth. Psalm 139.13: For You have possessed my reins (inward parts): You have covered me in my mother’s womb.14 I will praise You; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are Your works; and that my soul knows right well. 15 My substance was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my substance, yet being imperfect; and in Your book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. Psalm 148:5: Let them praise the name of YAHWEH: for He commanded, and they were created. Ecclesiastes 12:1: Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when you shall say, I have no pleasure in them; Isaiah 40:26: Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who has created these things, that brings out their host by number: He calls them all by names by the greatness of his might, because He is strong in power; not one fails. Isaiah 40:28: Have you not known? Have you not heard, that The Everlasting Elohim, YAHWEH, The Creator of the ends of the earth, faints not, neither is weary? There is no searching of His understanding. Isaiah 41:20: That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of YAHWEH has done this, and the Holy One of Israel has created it. Isaiah 42:5: Thus says YAHWEH Elohim, He that created the heavens, and stretched them out; He that spread forth the earth, and that which comes out of it; He that gives breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: Isaiah 43:1: But now thus says YAHWEH who created you, Jacob, and He that formed you, Israel, "Fear not: for I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name; you are mine." Isaiah 43:7: Even every one that is called by My name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; indeed, I have made him. Isaiah 43:15: I am YAHWEH, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King. Isaiah 45:7: I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I, YAHWEH, do all these things. Isaiah 45:8: Drop down, you heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I, YAHWEH, have created it. Isaiah 45:12: I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded. Isaiah 45:18: For thus says YAHWEH, who created the heavens; YAHWEH Himself that formed the earth and made it; He has established it. He created it not in vain. He formed it to be inhabited: I am YAHWEH, and there is none else. Isaiah 65:17: For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. 18 But be glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. Amos 4:13: For, lo, He that forms the mountains, and creates the wind, and declares unto man what is His thought, that makes the morning darkness, and treads upon the high places of the earth, YAHWEH is His name, The Elohim of Assemblies. Malachi 2:10: Have we not all one father? Has not YAHWEH created us? Why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers? Mark 10:6: But from the beginning of the creation YAHWEH made them male and female. Mark 13:19: For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which YAHWEH created unto this time, neither shall be.
John 1:1 In the beginning was The Word, and The Word was with YAHWEH, and The Word was YAHWEH. 2 He was in the beginning with YAHWEH. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
Romans 1.18: ) For the wrath of YAHWEH is revealed from Heaven against all impiety (wickedness) and injustice (morally wrong character or actions) of men, who hold down (suppress) the truth by means of (their) injustice; (19) because that which may be well-known of YAHWEH is apparent to them; for Yahweh has made it apparent to them. (20) For His (YAHWEH’s) things, which were not capable of being seen since the original formation of the world, are discerned clearly, being understood through the created things - even His eternal miraculous power and Divinity (or Deity). Therefore (because these things are understood through the things created) they are without excuse (lit. without a legal basis upon which to provide a defense of their unbelief), (21) for when they knew of YAHWEH (recognized or understood the existence of - through the created things), they honored and praised Him not as YAHWEH, nor did they express gratitude (to Him for what they saw). On the contrary, they became foolish in their mental considerations, and their unintelligent heart (the thoughts or feelings, or the mind) was obscured. (22) Asserting themselves as being wise, they have become fooled (deceived), (23)and have exchanged the glory of the incorruptible (or, immortal) YAHWEH into an image (icon, or idol) that resembles corruptible (mortal) man - even birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things; (24) for which cause YAHWEH delivered (surrendered) them into impurity in the lusts of their (unintelligent) hearts in order to treat with scorn their very own bodies, (25) those specific ones who transformed the truth of YAHWEH into a lie, and venerated (adored) and rendered religious homage to (worshipped) the created things more than to the One who created, who is blessed (adorable) into Eternity. Amen. Romans 8:18: Therefore I reckon that the difficulties of this present time are not comparable to the glory which shall be revealed unto us, (19) because the intense anticipation of the creation fully expects the revelation (The Apocalypse) of The Son of YAHWEH, (22) For we perceive that the whole creation groans and has birth pangs together (with us) even until now. 2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore if any man be in The Messiah, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Galatians 6:15: For in The Messiah, YAHUSHUA neither circumcision avails any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in The Messiah, YAHUSHUA unto good works, which YAHWEH has before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 3:9: And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in YAHWEH, who created all things by YAHUSHUA, The Messiah: Colossians 1:16: For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: 1 Timothy 4:4: For every creature of YAHWEH is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: Hebrews 4:13: Neither is there any creature that is not revealed in His sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. James 1:18: Of his own will He begot us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of His creatures. Revelation 3:14: And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things says the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of YAHWEH; Revelation 4:11: You are worthy, Sovereign, to receive glory and honor and power: for You have created all things, and for Your pleasure they are and were created. Revelation 5:13: And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. Revelation 10:6: And swore by Him that lives for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer: YAHWEH is The Creator. He created you for a purpose - to believe in Him and to praise Him for eternity. As Creator He has the right to bring an end to creation as we understand it and to create something entirely new and wonderful for those who choose to believe in His love and redemption. To deny YAHWEH as Creator is to deny yourself the privilege of spending eternity with Him.
Unfortunately, our educational system has taught us for decades to speak in terms of "evolution". This theory (it's really only a theory, not a proven fact or reality) says we somehow "appeared" out of a few basic elements of nature. This view denies the concept of a Creator in favor of some "accidental" process by which we have "developed" from some primordial slime. There is nothing that clearly and factually supports the "theory" of evolution. It is only a theory, not a proven fact. And the materials used to support this proposed "theory" simply provide no solid evidence to demonstrate it's validity when they're examined carefully. (If it's really true, why don't we call nature an "evolution" rather than a "creation"? And why don't we call animals and humans "evolutes" instead of "creatures"?)
In contrast to this is the Biblical view that teaches there is a Creator, YAHWEH Elohim. There is a great deal of solid evidence to indicate there was and is a purposeful design to our "creation" (to nature, "Mother Earth" - can you conceive of earth as a "mother" in evolution, the human genome, or whatever else you may refer to). The complexities of life are far too great and far too wondrous for our lives and the functioning of our planet and solar system, let alone the entire universe, to have come into existence by some "accident", or by mere "chance". Consider this: If you are merely "an accident" or a "chance happening" how can there be any purpose or meaning to your life? Why are you here?
Why do you exist? And, how do you exist? What "evolutionary process" caused you? And what "evolutionary process" sustains your life?
Without a purposeful design (which would imply a Designer) there is no meaningful reason for our existence, or for that of anything that exists. It's all just one huge "accident". There is no "purpose" for our life. We are merely some twist of fate that just "happened" to appear on the scene. We have no purpose, no real future, no real value, no real meaning. So why stick around? What's the point of living? What will "evolve" from you? And what does it matter what "evolves" from you?
On the other hand, if there really is a Creator who designed you for a purpose and placed you here in this world for a reason, it should be possible for you to discover a real sense of meaning and purpose for your life. Under such a design you do have value. You are important.
Specifically, you are important to the One who designed you, who created you. The search for significance and meaning for our lives is what motivates all us. We are constantly looking for some understanding of why we're here and what value is to be found for our lives. When we fail to discover these things life often seems futile and frustrating - pointless even. Despair is often the result.
The Word of YAHWEH provides insights into the creation, and into the relevance of the creatures in it. In presenting these verses one must recognize there are many, many more that could be included. There are 1085 references to the idea "to make" something (to create or produce) in Scripture. There are 1406 references to something being "made". Only a small sampling of these references is presented here for your consideration.
The preponderance of information presents the idea of "creation" (to make something or produce something), and denies the concept of evolution. YAHWEH's Word plainly supports the view that there is a Creator, and therefore there is a reason for our existence. May you find in these scriptures some answers to your own questions about why you're here and what value your life has.NOTE: In the first chapters of Genesis we find the term "Elohim" used. The term means mighty one, mightiest one, god, or gods. It is used to refer to the only Supreme Being (there can be only one), that existed at the time of the Creation. No other "gods" were yet formed or thought of, so the term could only refer to "The One True God". His name is YAHWEH. In these first few chapters Elohim is YAHWEH. Also, Elohim is a plural term, understood to include The Messiah, YAHUSHUA, the Son of YAHWEH, and The Holy Spirit (Ruach Ha Codesh) as well as YAHWEH, The Father. Throughout Scripture YAHWEH is always viewed as the Supreme Being who has reigned over all things since the first steps of Creation.
A second note is important. The name, YAHWEH, has been removed from most Bibles. It has been replaced with terms like The LORD, Lord, Adonay, etc. I've chosen to use His proper personal name in these verses to correct that error. The name of The Messiah has also been altered. He is often called "Jesus", but His true Hebrew name is YAHUSHUA. I've chosen to use that name in the verses below. For more information on this please see the articles under "The Really important Stuff" in the sidebar.
(26) For this cause YAHWEH delivered (surrendered) them into suffering, to their disgrace: those who even willfully exchanged their instinctive female employment (sexual intercourse) into that which is against its natural function. (27) And likewise also the men, having forsaken the instinctive female employment (sexual intercourse), were inflamed in their longing, one toward another, male with male, accomplishing that which is indecent, and receiving back in full, in themselves, the recompense (payback) of their error (fraudulence), which was necessitated (by their actions).(28) And since they did not approve of keeping YAHWEH in recognition (of His Deity), YAHWEH delivered them over to a rejected (worthless) mind, to do what is not becoming (proper or appropriate), (29) (they) having been crammed full with every wrongfulness of character (depravity, greed, malice, full of jealousy, murder, quarreling, deceit, worthless moral habits, rumor mongers, (30) slanderers, haters of YAHWEH (irreverent or impious), insulters, arrogant, braggarts, inventors (discoverers) of evil, disobedient to parents, (31) unintelligent (foolish), contract-breakers, hard-hearted towards kindred, implacable, merciless) (32) who, knowing the justification of YAHWEH - that those who practice things of this sort are deserving of death - not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
(20) because this creation was made subject to uselessness (or depravity),
not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it - resting upon hope,
(21) because this creation itself also will be liberated from the slavery of the
decay into the glorious freedom of The Son YAHWEH.
You have a choice about what you believe. You can believe you came into existence by accident, from some primordial slime, and that there is therefore absolutely no reason, meaning, or purpose to your life. Or you can believe there is a Creator, who loves you deeply and wants you to enjoy being in His presence for all eternity. You can believe there really is a purpose for your existence. Don't be deceived by the traditions of the world. Belief in evolution is foolishness. There is a reason you were created and brought into existence. YAHWEH's love for you is that reason. And your purpose is to bring honor and praise to Him for all He has done for you.
Recognize The Truth about your life. Believe the lie no longer.
