We continue in this section with more of the Hebrew terms used to identify the concept of power. The Hebrew term is presented along with its meaning and a list of scripture examples.

H3027 –yad – used 1663 times

Genesis 29:8:  And they said, We cannot (negative sense), until all the flocks are gathered together, and till they roll the stone from the well’s mouth; then we water the sheep.

Genesis 30:8:  And Rachel said, With great wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister, and I have prevailed: and she called his name Naphtali.

Genesis 32:25:  And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, He touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was out of joint, as He wrestled with him.

Genesis 32:28:  And He said, Your name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince you have with YAHWEH and with men, and have prevailed.

Genesis 44:22:  And we said unto my master, The lad cannot leave his father: for if he should leave his father, his father would die.

Exodus 9:11:  And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boil was upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians.

Exodus 18:18:  You will surely wear away, both you, and this people that is with you: for this thing is too heavy for you; you are not able to perform it yourself alone.

Exodus 18:23:  If you shall do this thing, and Yahweh command you so, then you shall be able to endure, and all this people shall also go to their place in peace.

Exodus 33:20:  And he said, You cannot see My face: for there shall no man see Me and live.

Exodus 40:35:  And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of Yahweh filled the tabernacle.

Numbers 11:14:  I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.

Numbers 13:30:  And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.

Numbers 22:6:  Come now therefore, I pray you, curse this people for me, for they are too mighty for me: perhaps I shall prevail, that we may smite them, and that I may drive them out of the land: for I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed.

Deuteronomy 1:9:  And I spoke unto you at that time, saying, I am not able to bear you myself alone:

Joshua 7:12:  Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they were accursed: neither will I be with you any more, except you destroy the accursed from among you.

Jeremiah 1:19:  And they shall fight against you; but they shall not prevail against you; for I am with you, says YAHWEH, to deliver you.

Jeremiah 5:22:  Do you not fear Me, says YAHWEH. Will you not tremble at My presence, who has placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

Hosea 12:4:  Yes, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication to him: he found him in Bethel, and there he spoke with us;

Jonah 1:13:  Nevertheless the men rowed hard to bring it to the land; but they could not: for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous against them.

Psalms 103:22:  Bless YAHWEH, all His works in all places of his dominion: bless YAHWEH, O my soul.

Psalms 145:13:  Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all generations.

Jeremiah 34:1:  The word which came unto Jeremiah from YAHWEH, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his army, and all the kingdoms of the earth of his dominion, and all the people, fought against Jerusalem, and against all the cities thereof, saying,

Daniel 11:5:  And the king of the south shall be strong, and one of his princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion shall be a great dominion.

Micah 4:8: And you, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto you shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem.

Genesis 37:8:  And his brothers said to him, Shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall you indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words.

Genesis 45:8:  So now it was not you that sent me here, but YAHWEH: and He hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.

2 Samuel 23:3:  The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of YAHWEH.

1 Kings 4:21:  And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life.

2 Chronicles 20:6:  And said, O YAHWEH, God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven? And do You  not rule over all the kingdoms of the heathen? And in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand You?

Psalms 8:6:  You made Him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under His feet:

Psalms 22:28:  For the kingdom is YAHWEH's: and He is the governor among the nations.

Psalms 66:7:  He rules by His power for ever; His eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.

Psalms 106:41:  And He gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.

Proverbs 12:24:  The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.

Proverbs 22:7:  The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.

Proverbs 29:2:  When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

Isaiah 40:10:  Behold, YAHWEH Elohim will come with a strong hand, and his arm shall rule for Him: behold, His reward is with Him, and His work before Him.

Lamentations 5:8:  Servants have ruled over us: there is none that delivers us out of their hand.

Daniel 11:3:  And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will. 4 And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those. 5 And the king of the south shall be strong, and one of his princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion shall be a great dominion.

Deuteronomy 28:50:  A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:

Psalms 28:8:  YAHWEH is their strength, and He is the saving strength of His anointed.

Psalms 46:1 : YAHWEH is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Psalms 59:16:  But I will sing of Your power; yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning: for You hast been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble.

Psalms 61:3:  For You have been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

Psalms 62:11:  YAHWEH has spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto YAHWEH.

Psalms 84:5:  Blessed is the man whose strength is in You; in whose heart are the ways of them.

Psalms 96:6:  Honor and majesty are before Him: strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.

Proverbs 21:22:  A wise man scales the city of the mighty, and casts down the strength of the confidence thereof.

Proverbs 24:5:  A wise man is strong; yes, a man of knowledge increases strength.

Isaiah 12:2:  Behold, YAHWEH is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for YAHWEH YAH is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation.

Jeremiah 16:19:  Oh YAHWEH, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto You from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.

Ezekiel 33:28:  For I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through.
